Patches is a very sweet and gentle sorrel mare with 3 stockings and a wide blaze. She is classified as "Special Needs" because of her advanced age of around 25 - 30 years. Patches is in good health but, like most horses of her advanced years, she does not have great teeth and must be given pelleted food (which is easy to chew and digest.) She has been in very poor condition in the past and she will require regular feeding and access to shelter. She does well eating green grass but is not able to chew regular hay. She can eat shredded hay that is available for purchase at any feed store. Patches is a very well trained mare that could be suitable for very light riding by a small child. She gets along with other horses well and would also be a good companion for another older horse. Patches is a relatively expensive horse to keep because of her special nutritional requirements and is offered as a transfer (without adoption fee) to an adoptive family that has the ability to care for her.
